Unlocking Methods
Unlike the traditional method of unlocking mobile phones using the IMEI number, an iPhone unlock requires a different method. There are two primary methods for mobile phone unlocking, software unlocking and sim unlocking.
Software Unlocking: This is the best and our recommended method of unlocking an iPhone.
The software is a comprehensive solution, built with simplicity in mind. Developed by leading developers, no technical or computer knowledge is required and should you require, you have the comfort that our technical staff are on hand to answer any questions that may arise.
We also include a fully reversible solution to relock your iPhone to ensure your warranty remains valid. Should you ever need to return your iPhone to the store you will have the added confidence of the full Apple manufacturers warranty.
SIM Unlocking: This method includes the use of a sim addition, often referred to as a 'piggyback' sim. These little devices, roughly the same size and shape as a Sim card, sit in the Sim tray alongside the desired Sim itself.
Effectively, the device unlocks your Sim to make it work with the handset, rather than unlocking the iPhone to accept any sim. The disadvantage with this option is that whenever Apple release a software update, they quite often include a 'patch' which makes these cards useless with the new release.
If you choose this option you will either have to remain on the software version the card was made for and never update, or purchase another suitable 'piggyback' sim for each time a new software version is released. We don't recommend this solution.
